Franklin Glen offers a great sense of community. The monthly Franklin Glen Gazette keeps residents informed, and the community sponsors the following formal activities:

· 4th of July pool party

· Saturday night adult swim nights

· Swimming lessons

· End of season pool party

Amenities

· Pool (recently upgraded with a great baby pool for kids 5 and under)

· Tennis courts (new top and nets)

· Miles of paved walking/jogging trails (many were repaved in October 2005)

· Central playground and several tot lots (currently being redesigned and updated)

· Full-size basketball court

· Franklin Glen Park, a 3.5 acre soccer field

The neighborhood takes pride in its condition and is continually updating and improving!

Mom’s Co-op

There is a Mom's group that meets every month alternating between a Mom's night out and a organizational meeting.  This is a great way to meet other Mom's in the neighborhood.  They sponsor the following activities:

· Spring fling (lots of fun activities for kids)

· 4th of July bike parade

· Santa-on-a-fire truck (drives through the neighborhood stopping in specific locations to meet the children and elf volunteers hand out candy canes and reindeer food)

· Halloween party and haunted/fun house

·  A week worth of meals when a Mom in the group has a baby

· Kindergarten get togethers (the summer before the kids enter Kindergarten so that they have friends in their class and the transition is a little easier)

· Play groups

Swim Team

The community sponsored swim team for kids ages 5-18 had 150 members this past summer.  Run by parent volunteers, the cost to join is minimal.  The kids have swim team practice every day and swim meets against other local communities twice a week (only the top swimmers swim on Saturday).  It's a lot of fun for the kids and builds both swimming skills and a good sense of community.
